November is the month of Thanksgiving,
so what better time to give thanks to you, the staff of Carnegie
Museums of Pittsburgh, for the work you do every day? Carnegie
Museums will do exactly that, all month long, and you’re
invited to join in on the celebration.
Come join fellow staff members at breakfast
gatherings in Oakland, at the Science Center, and at The Warhol.
And don’t forget to mark your calendars for special
staff tours of the museums’ latest exhibitions, as well
as a special staff viewing of a dynamic new OMNIMAX film.
It’s all in honor of you, the hard-working staff of
Carnegie Museums!
STAFF BREAKFAST
GATHERINGS
November 4, 10 and 19
8:30 – 9:30 am
Carnegie Café, Riverview Café and The Warhol
Café
Spend some quality time with other staff members and component
Directors/Vice Presidents. These gatherings will occur concurrently
at three different sites on November 4, 10, and 19—at
Carnegie Café in Oakland, at the Science Center’s
Riverview Café, and in The Warhol Café. Feel
free to attend the gathering closest to you; or, if you’ll
be off-site on any of those days, stop in and visit at
any
of the three locations. Enjoy coffee/tea along with breakfast
rolls, doughnuts, or muffins. A great way to start the
day!
PRIVATE EXHIBITION
TOURS
FREE VIEWING OF THE LATEST
OMNIMAX FILM
We know what you’re thinking: there’s so much
happening at the four museums this holiday season but so little
time to be a part of it all. So throughout the month of November,
you’ll have the opportunity to tour the Carnegie
International, The Warhol’s Time Capsules
exhibition, and the Museum of Natural History’s Ancient
Bronzes’ exhibit like few people ever do—guided
by the people who created them, and as a break in your regular
work day. And how about checking out the latest and possibly
one of the greatest OMNIMAX films, Ghosts of the Abyss—for
free—at a late-morning screening? You can return to
the Science Center again for a sneak peek at the “new”
Miniature Railroad & Village, which doesn’t
open to the rest of the world until November 19.
Dates and times are as follows. Please celebrate by participating!
Don’t forget to coordinate any time away from your work
duties with your supervisor. And if you have any questions
about the events, please contact your Employee Team-Building
Representative (see names below).

museum’s new exhibition, Andy Warhol’s Time
Capsules, which for the first time in the United States
showcases the contents of 15 of those boxes. (Tours will be
approximately 1-11/2 hours and will begin in the Entrance
Gallery in The Andy Warhol Museum.)
